About Hey, It’s Just money!

Hi, I’m J and this is my blog. Hey, It’s Just Money is a personal finance blog created to document and track my journey in achieving my financial goals. I have always been passionate about finance and an avid saver but my interest in personal finance started last year in 2015, after stumbling upon the online personal finance community. I was, since then, inspired to create more meaningful financial goals and form better financial habits.

While most bloggers have magic numbers that will eventually signify that that they have reached their ultimate financial goals, I have words. “Hey, it’s just money” is something someone who does not worry about money often says and this is why I chose this to be my blog name. At the moment, I am not someone who can say it comfortably, but hopefully, as I progress in this journey, I will be able to.

About Me

I’m a 30-something blogger from Australia and unlike other personal finance bloggers, I don’t have a good comeback story, debt to payoff or a date for early retirement. I do, however, share with them the same passion for making good use of money. I wrote a bit of my financial background in this post.

    1. I had a long list of possible domain names but, one day, this hit me and there was no turning back! Thanks for visiting and for taking the time to leave a message, I really appreciate it. 🙂

  1. Hi J! So glad I found your blog through a combination of the Sunshine Blogger Awards (Vic’s post that you nominated him for!) and Our Next Life’s #FF tweet today. I actually loved your question about Australia in Vic’s post – I studied abroad in Sydney and it’s the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere outside of Canada. (It was amazing and I survived some harrowing spider-related incidents, which were well worth it. Your country is awesome.)

    1. Hi Des! Thanks for dropping by! I also just recently found your blog from Vic’s but never got around leaving a comment because I was sick most of last week. Not going to lie, the spider comment took me to your blog. Haha! 😛 But I’m sorry you had to experience that.

  2. Hi J – I’m a fellow blogger in Australia and so excited to find your site (via Northern Expenditure- So funny I went via Alaska to find you) Look forward to following your story. Love your approach – so true it is just money!

    1. Hi! Yay another Aussie pf blogger! Thank you for checking my site and for dropping a note. I think we’ll both be frequenting each other’s blogs from now. 🙂

  3. Hi there J, nice to meet you. I love reading other people’s blogs about how their financial journey is going.. To be honest, I’ve never been much of a goal setter but no that I’m seeing everyone else’s goals laid out for the world to see, I’m turning around, although slowly lol. Good luck on your journey, and a bit of luck doesn’t go astray every now and then, and I look forward to reading your blog as you go. Cheers, Martin – Get FIRE’d asap

  4. I love this blog. I’m experiencing the same aggravation of saving and not having fun. Thanks for your perspective.
